About the book of 2 Samuel

Second Samuel follows the life of David after he became king of Israel. He was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he ruled for forty years.

David made Jerusalem his capital city and brought the ark of God there, dancing for joy. He showed great kindness to Mephibosheth, the son of his friend Jonathan.

David wasn't perfect — he made some big mistakes — but he always turned back to God and said sorry, and God called him a man after His own heart.
