The story behind this colouring sheet
The cross is the most important symbol for Christians. But look carefully — the cross is empty!
Jesus died on the cross on Good Friday. But He didn't stay dead. The Bible says that He was buried, and then He was raised to life on the third day, just as the Scriptures had said long before.
An empty cross reminds us that Jesus' work is finished, and that He is alive today. Death couldn't keep Him!
That's why Easter is the happiest day of the Christian year.
Talk about it
- Is the cross empty?
- On which day was Jesus raised to life?
- What does the empty cross mean to you?
