About the book of 2 Chronicles
Second Chronicles tells the story of the kings of Judah, starting with King Solomon, who built a beautiful temple for God in Jerusalem.
The book shows what happened when kings trusted God and when they didn't. When a huge army came against King Jehoshaphat, he and the people prayed, "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you." God told them not to be afraid, and Jehoshaphat sent singers ahead of the army to praise God. God won the battle for them.
Other good kings, like Hezekiah and Josiah, repaired the temple and led the people back to God. The book ends with hope, as a king called Cyrus lets God's people go home to rebuild.
