About the book of Isaiah
Isaiah was a prophet who lived about 700 years before Jesus was born. A prophet is someone who passes on messages from God.
Isaiah's book is full of hope. Many of its promises are about a special King God would send: a child born to us, called Wonderful Counsellor and Prince of Peace. Christians believe these promises came true in Jesus.
Children often know Isaiah's beautiful pictures of peace, like the wolf lying down with the lamb, and of strength, like soaring on wings like eagles.
