About Cornelius
Cornelius was a Roman army officer who lived in Caesarea. He respected God and helped people in need. One day an angel told him to send for Peter, who was staying in Joppa.
As Cornelius's messengers travelled, Peter saw a vision of a large sheet filled with animals. A voice told him not to call unclean what God had made clean. Peter began to understand that he should not treat people from other nations as unclean.
Peter went to Cornelius's home and told his family about Jesus. The Holy Spirit came to everyone who listened. Peter understood that God welcomed people from every nation, and Cornelius and his household were baptised.
