About Gideon
Gideon lived when the Midianites troubled Israel. The LORD's angel came to him and said that God was with him. Gideon did not think he was strong or important, but God promised to help him. Gideon asked God for signs, and God answered patiently. Then Gideon gathered an army, but God made the group much smaller. Gideon led three hundred men with trumpets, jars, and torches. The Midianites fled when they heard the trumpets and saw the lights. Gideon learned that God could help him lead, even when he felt unsure.
