About the story
Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress when the LORD's angel came to him. Gideon did not feel strong or important, but God promised to be with him. Gideon asked God for signs to help him trust. Later, God chose only three hundred men to go with Gideon. They carried trumpets and jars with torches inside. At night they blew the trumpets, broke the jars, and held up the torches. The Midianites were startled and ran away. Gideon learned that God could help him lead, even when he felt unsure.
