John the Baptist coloring pages

John was the son of Zechariah and Elizabeth, born when his parents were very old. An angel announced his birth and gave him his name.

When he grew up, John lived in the desert, wore clothes made of camel's hair and ate locusts and wild honey. He told people to turn back to God and get ready, because someone great was coming.

John baptised people in the River Jordan, and one day he baptised Jesus himself. As Jesus came up out of the water, the Holy Spirit came down like a dove.
