About the story

Before Jesus was born, God sent the angel Gabriel with some wonderful news.

First Gabriel visited an old priest called Zechariah in the temple, to tell him that his wife Elizabeth would have a baby boy called John.

Then Gabriel went to Nazareth to visit a young woman called Mary. He told her she would have a baby too, and He would be God's own Son, Jesus. Mary said yes to God.

Mary hurried to visit her cousin Elizabeth, and baby John jumped for joy inside his mother! Meanwhile an angel spoke to Joseph in a dream, so he would look after Mary and her baby.
