The story behind this colouring sheet

Mary had a question for the angel. "How can this happen?" she asked. "I am not married yet."

Gabriel explained that the Holy Spirit would come to her, and the baby would be the Son of God. Then he told her more good news: her old cousin Elizabeth was going to have a baby too! "Nothing is impossible with God," the angel said.

Mary did not understand everything. But she trusted God completely. "I am the Lord's servant," she said. "Let it happen just as you have said."

Then the angel left her. Mary's brave "yes" to God is one of the most important answers anyone has ever given.

Talk about it

  1. What did Mary say to the angel?
  2. Who else was going to have a baby?
  3. Mary trusted God even though she didn't understand everything. What does it mean to trust God?
