The story behind this colouring sheet
After the angel's visit, Mary hurried off on a long journey into the hills to see her cousin Elizabeth.
As soon as Mary walked in and said hello, something wonderful happened. The baby inside Elizabeth jumped for joy! God's Holy Spirit filled Elizabeth, and she called out, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is your baby!"
Elizabeth already knew that Mary's baby was very special — he was the Lord!
Mary was so happy that she sang a song of praise to God: "My soul praises the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour." Mary stayed with Elizabeth for about three months before going home to Nazareth.
