About Josiah
Josiah became king when he was just eight years old. He ruled Judah from Jerusalem, following the example of King David. The Bible says Josiah did what was right in God's sight and did not turn aside from the good path.
When Josiah was older, he sent workers to repair the Temple. During the repairs, Hilkiah the high priest found the book of God's law. When the book was read to Josiah, he listened carefully and wanted the people to obey God.
Josiah gathered the leaders and promised to obey God's covenant. The people also agreed to follow God's commands. Josiah helped the people remember God's words. His story shows that children and adults alike can listen to God and choose what is right.
