About the story
Josiah, Hezekiah and Jehoshaphat were kings of Judah at different times. Each faced hard choices while leading the people. Josiah became king when he was only eight years old and chose to follow God. Later, workers repaired the Temple and found the book of God's law.
Hezekiah became sick and prayed earnestly. God heard him and sent Isaiah with a message that he would recover. Jehoshaphat faced a powerful army. He encouraged the people to trust God and sent singers ahead of the soldiers to praise him.
Their stories cover many years, from Josiah's childhood to Jehoshaphat's time as king. These kings did not solve every problem by their own strength. They prayed, listened and called the people to trust God. Their stories remind us that God hears prayer, helps his people and deserves praise in every situation.
