About the book of 2 Kings
Second Kings continues the story of the kings of Israel and Judah. It begins with the prophet Elijah being carried up to heaven in a whirlwind, with horses and chariots of fire, and his helper Elisha taking his place.
God did many wonderful things through Elisha. A widow's jar of oil kept pouring, a kind family made him a little room, an axe head floated, and Naaman was healed after a young servant girl told him where to find help.
Some kings trusted God, like Hezekiah, who prayed when his city was in danger, and Josiah, who became king at eight years old. But many turned away, and at the end of the book God's people were taken away to Babylon.
