About Nehemiah
Nehemiah worked for the king of Persia. When he heard that Jerusalem’s walls were broken, he prayed and asked the king for permission to go help. The king agreed, and Nehemiah travelled to Jerusalem.
Nehemiah looked at the walls and encouraged the people to rebuild them. Families and neighbours worked together, each repairing part of the city wall. Nehemiah helped them keep going until the work was joined together.
Nehemiah trusted God and served the people of Jerusalem. His story is told in the book of Nehemiah.
