About Philip
Philip was one of the seven helpers chosen by the early church in Jerusalem. He later travelled to Samaria and told people about Jesus. Many listened to him and were baptised.
An angel sent Philip onto a road leading south from Jerusalem. There he met a man from Ethiopia who worked for the queen and was reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked if he understood what he was reading.
The man invited Philip to sit with him in his chariot. Philip explained how the Scripture pointed to Jesus and shared the good news. When they came to water, the man asked to be baptised. Philip baptised him, and the man continued on his way rejoicing.
