About Rahab
Rahab lived in the city of Jericho. When two Israelite spies came to the city, she welcomed them into her home. The king of Jericho heard that they were there and sent men to look for them.
Rahab hid the spies on her roof under stalks of flax. She told the king's men that the visitors had left, and the searchers went out of the city. Then Rahab helped the spies escape through her window with a rope. She asked them to protect her family when the Israelites came.
The spies promised that Rahab and her family would be safe if they stayed inside her house and tied a scarlet cord in the window. Rahab did as they asked. The spies returned to Joshua and reported what had happened. Rahab's courage helped them complete their mission.
