A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Joshua sent two spies to look over Jericho. They came to the home of Rahab, who lived in the city wall. The king heard that the spies were there and sent men to find them.
Rahab hid the spies under stalks of flax on her roof. She told the king's men that the visitors had left. After the searchers went away, Rahab spoke with the spies. She had heard how God had helped the Israelites, and she asked them to keep her family safe.
The spies promised to protect Rahab and her family if she tied a scarlet cord in her window and gathered her family inside her house. Rahab helped the spies escape by lowering them from the window with a rope. They told her to wait until the right time, and she tied the cord in the window. The spies returned safely to Joshua.
