About the book of Joshua
The book of Joshua begins after Moses has died. God chose Joshua to lead the people of Israel into the Promised Land, and told him, "Be strong and courageous," promising to be with him wherever he went.
Rahab helped two spies escape from Jericho, and God stopped the waters of the Jordan River so the people could cross on dry ground. At Jericho, the people marched around the city for seven days, and the walls came tumbling down.
Joshua led Israel in many battles, and once God even made the sun stand still. At the end of his life, Joshua called the people to choose to serve God, saying, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
