About Samuel
Samuel was the son of Hannah, who had prayed for a baby for many years. As a young boy, Samuel went to live at the temple to help the old priest Eli.
One night Samuel heard a voice calling his name. It was God! Samuel answered, "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening."
Samuel grew up to be a great prophet. God sent him to anoint Israel's first two kings, Saul and then young David.
