The story behind this colouring sheet
Easter lilies are big, white, trumpet-shaped flowers that bloom in spring. Many churches decorate with them at Easter.
A lily grows from a bulb that looks dry and lifeless in the ground. But in spring, a beautiful flower comes out of it! That reminds us of Jesus coming back to life.
The cross is empty because Jesus is not dead any more. On Easter Sunday, Christians around the world greet each other: "The Lord is risen!" And the answer is: "He is risen indeed!"
Talk about it
- What flowers are around the cross?
- Why is the cross empty?
- Can you say the Easter greeting: "He is risen!" — "He is risen indeed!"?
