The story behind this colouring sheet
When Jesus had died, a kind man called Joseph of Arimathea asked if he could bury Jesus' body. Joseph was a secret follower of Jesus.
Joseph and his friend Nicodemus wrapped Jesus' body gently in clean linen cloth with sweet-smelling spices. They laid Him in a brand-new tomb cut into the rock, in a garden.
Then a huge round stone was rolled across the entrance. Some of the women who loved Jesus watched where He was laid.
Everyone went home very sad. It was the end of Friday. But Sunday was coming!
Talk about it
- What was rolled across the door of the tomb?
- Who looked after Jesus' body?
- Jesus' friends were very sad. What do you do when you feel sad?
