The story behind this colouring sheet
On the Friday before Easter, Jesus was put on a wooden cross on a hill outside Jerusalem, between two other men. It is the saddest day in the story — but Christians call it Good Friday.
Why "good"? Because Jesus chose to die to take away the wrong things we have done, so that we can be forgiven and become friends with God.
The Bible says, "God shows His love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Jesus' friends were heartbroken. But in three days, everything was going to change!
Talk about it
- How many crosses can you see?
- Why do Christians call this day Good Friday?
- What does the cross tell us about how much God loves us?
