“Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”
The story behind this colouring sheet
When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming towards him, he called out, "Look! The Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
In Old Testament times, God's people offered lambs to God when they had done wrong. And at the first Passover, the blood of a lamb kept God's people safe.
John was saying that Jesus is the perfect Lamb. When He died on the cross, He took away the wrong things we have done, so we can be forgiven.
That's why lambs are a symbol of Easter.
