About the story
People brought little children to Jesus, hoping he would bless them. The disciples tried to send the children away, but Jesus saw and stopped them. He told the disciples to let the children come to him.
Jesus welcomed the children, took them in his arms, and blessed them. He said that God's Kingdom belongs to those who receive it like a child. The children were welcome close to Jesus.
Jesus showed the disciples that children matter. They did not need to be older or more important to come near him. Jesus wanted to bless them and have them with him.
