Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Jesus welcomed the children and took them in his arms. He placed his hands on them and blessed them. The children were close to Jesus while the disciples watched.
Jesus had time for each child. He did not ask them to leave or wait far away. He held them gently and spoke a blessing over them.
The disciples saw Jesus welcome the children. They could learn from his example that children belong near him. Jesus cares for children and wants them to come to him.
Questions to ask
- Who is with Jesus?
- How many children can you count?
- What did Jesus tell his disciples about the children?
