About Miriam
Miriam was the big sister of Moses and Aaron. When baby Moses was hidden in a basket on the River Nile, Miriam watched over him from the reeds. When Pharaoh's daughter found him, Miriam bravely offered to find a nurse: their own mother!
Years later, after God parted the Red Sea, Miriam took her tambourine and led all the women in dancing and singing praise to God.
The Bible calls Miriam a prophet, and she was one of the leaders of God's people in the desert.
