The story behind this colouring sheet
As Jesus rode the donkey towards Jerusalem, a huge crowd came out to meet Him. They were so excited!
People spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from palm trees and laid them down, like a carpet for a king.
Everyone shouted, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" Hosanna means "Save us!" and it was a way of praising God.
We remember this day as Palm Sunday, one week before Easter. Many churches give out palm crosses to remember it.
Talk about it
- What are the people waving?
- What did the crowd shout?
- How can we welcome Jesus as our King today?
