About the story

One week before Easter, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a young donkey. Huge crowds came out to welcome Him!

People laid their cloaks on the road and waved branches from palm trees. They shouted, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" They were welcoming Jesus as their King.

We remember this day as Palm Sunday, the start of Holy Week. Many churches hand out palm crosses, and children often wave palm leaves in a procession.
