The story behind this colouring sheet
Joseph, Mary's husband, was a carpenter. He made useful things out of wood, such as tables, doors, ploughs and yokes for oxen.
The Bible tells us Joseph was a good man who listened to God. When the angel spoke to him in dreams, he obeyed straight away — taking Mary as his wife, taking the family to Egypt to keep Jesus safe, and bringing them home to Nazareth.
Joseph cared for Jesus as his own son. Jesus grew up in Joseph's home and learned his trade, and later people called Jesus "the carpenter's son".
Joseph shows us that working hard and caring for our family are ways of serving God.
