About the story

Jesus grew up in Nazareth with Mary and Joseph. When he was twelve, he travelled with them to Jerusalem for a festival. As Mary and Joseph began the journey home, they did not see Jesus with the group. They returned to Jerusalem and searched for him.

After three days, they found him in the temple, sitting with the teachers, listening and asking questions. Mary and Joseph were relieved. Jesus returned home with them and obeyed them.

The Bible says Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and people.
