“Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will towards men.”
The story behind this colouring sheet
On the night Jesus was born, the angels sang: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those He is pleased with!"
Peace is one of the great gifts of Christmas. Jesus came to bring peace between people and God, and to help people live in peace with each other.
A dove is often used as a sign of peace. In the story of Noah, a dove brought back an olive leaf to show the flood was over. Later, when Jesus was baptised, the Holy Spirit came down on Him like a dove.
That's why you'll often see doves on Christmas cards: they remind us that Jesus is the Prince of Peace.
Talk about it
- What is the dove carrying?
- What did the angels sing about peace on Christmas night?
- Is there someone you could make peace with this Christmas?
