Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
David was king, and he wanted to bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem. As the people carried it into the city, David danced with joy before God. Musicians played instruments and people celebrated.
David wore a simple linen garment as he danced. He was not trying to impress people. He was glad that the Ark was coming to the city.
The people brought the Ark to a special tent, and David offered gifts to God. The city celebrated together, and David praised God with all his heart.
Questions to ask
- What is David doing?
- What instrument can you spot?
- Why was David dancing as the Ark came to Jerusalem?
