About the story
David became king after Saul. He brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, and the people celebrated with music. David danced for joy and praised God.
David remembered his friend Jonathan. He invited Jonathan's son Mephibosheth to eat at the king's table and gave him land that had belonged to Saul's family. David kept his promise to be kind to Jonathan's family.
David also wrote songs to praise God. In Psalm 19, he looked at the sky and saw how the sun and heavens showed God's glory. David loved God and shared his praise through music and words.
