“He left that place, and dug another well. They didn’t argue over that one. So he called it Rehoboth. He said, “For now the LORD has made room for us, and we will be fruitful in the land.””
Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Isaac and his family needed water, so Isaac dug wells. Some shepherds argued with him about the water. Isaac moved and dug another well.
At last, nobody argued about the new well. Isaac called the place Rehoboth. He said the LORD had made room for his family, and they could grow and live in the land.
Isaac did not fight over the wells. He kept moving until there was space for everyone. His story shows a peaceful way to respond when people disagree.
Questions to ask
- What is Isaac digging?
- What can people get from a well?
- How did Isaac respond when people argued about the wells?
