Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
God kept His promise! When Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90, they had a baby boy.
They called him Isaac, which means "he laughs". Sarah said, "God has made me laugh! Everyone who hears about this will laugh with me."
This time it was a happy laugh, full of joy and wonder. For so many years they had waited, and now their baby was here.
Isaac's birth showed that nothing is too hard for God, and that He always keeps His promises.
Questions to ask
- What does the name Isaac mean?
- How old was Abraham when Isaac was born?
- What makes you laugh with joy?
