Read the story together
A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
God blessed Abraham and his nephew Lot. Soon they had so many sheep, goats and cattle that there wasn't enough grass for all of them! Their herdsmen began to quarrel.
Abraham didn't want to argue. "Let's not fight," he said to Lot. "We're family. You choose which land you want, and I'll go the other way."
Abraham was older and could have picked first. But he let Lot choose. Lot chose the green, watered valley. Abraham trusted that God would look after him wherever he went, and God did.
Questions to ask
- What animals did Abraham and Lot have?
- Who chose the land first?
- Abraham let Lot choose first to keep the peace. When could you let someone else go first?
