A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
One hot day, Abraham was sitting at the entrance of his tent when he saw three men standing nearby. He jumped up, ran to meet them and bowed. "Please, stay and rest! Let me bring you water and food."
Abraham and Sarah quickly made fresh bread and a big meal for their guests. These were no ordinary visitors. They had come from God!
One of them said, "This time next year, Sarah will have a son." Sarah was listening inside the tent, and she laughed. She was far too old! But the visitor said, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?"
Questions to ask
- How many visitors came to Abraham's tent?
- What did Sarah do when she heard she would have a baby?
- Abraham was very welcoming. How can you make visitors feel welcome?
