“Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth! Burst out and sing for joy, yes, sing praises!”
The story behind this colouring sheet
At Christmas time we hear bells ringing and people singing carols. It's a joyful, noisy celebration!
The Bible tells us to make a joyful noise to God. Psalm 98 says: "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth! Burst into jubilant song with music!" The psalm calls on people to praise God with harps, trumpets and singing — and even calls on the seas, rivers and mountains to join in.
The famous Christmas carol "Joy to the World" was written by Isaac Watts, based on this psalm.
When we sing about Jesus coming into the world, we are joining in with all of creation praising God.
Talk about it
