The story behind this colouring sheet
Long before Jesus was born, God gave His people promises about a special King who would come one day.
In the book of Numbers, a man called Balaam saw a vision of the future. He said: "I see him, but not now... A star will come out of Jacob." Jacob was the father of God's people, Israel.
For hundreds of years, people waited and wondered when this promised King would come.
When Jesus was born, a real star appeared in the sky and led the wise men to Him. Jesus is the star that God had promised so long ago. God always keeps His promises!
Talk about it
- What shape is shining in the sky?
- Who was the star in Balaam's vision about?
- God kept His promise after a very long time. What promises of God can you think of?
