The story behind this colouring sheet
Bethlehem was a small town, not far from the great city of Jerusalem. Most people thought it wasn't very important.
But God had big plans for little Bethlehem. Long ago, King David was born there. And about 700 years before Jesus, the prophet Micah wrote: "But you, Bethlehem, though you are small, out of you will come a ruler over Israel."
When the time came, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, just as God had promised.
The carol "O Little Town of Bethlehem" celebrates this. God often chooses small and humble things to do His greatest work.
