The story behind this colouring sheet

Suddenly there was a great earthquake! An angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled the stone away from the tomb and sat on it.

The angel shone as bright as lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow. The guards were so frightened that they shook and fell down.

The stone wasn't rolled away to let Jesus out — it was rolled away so that everyone could see in.

And what would they see? Nothing! The tomb was empty!

Talk about it

  1. Who rolled the stone away?
  2. What happened to the guards?
  3. Why do you think the stone was rolled away so people could see inside?
