A short version of the story to read aloud before colouring, with questions to ask afterwards.
Zacchaeus welcomed Jesus into his home. During their visit, Zacchaeus stood up and made a promise. He would give half of his possessions to the poor. If he had cheated anyone, he would pay that person back four times as much.
Tax collectors were often disliked because they could take more money than people owed. Zacchaeus had been chief tax collector, but meeting Jesus led him to make things right. His promise showed that he wanted to live differently.
Jesus said that salvation had come to Zacchaeus's house. He explained that the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost. Zacchaeus was part of Abraham's family too.
