About the story
Daniel and three friends were taken from Judah to Babylon. They were given new names and invited to eat the king's rich food. Daniel wanted to honour God, so he asked for vegetables and water instead. After a ten-day test, Daniel and his friends looked healthy and strong.
Later, King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that troubled him. Daniel asked God for help, and God showed Daniel what the dream meant. Daniel told the king about a great statue and explained that God had revealed the meaning.
Daniel gave credit to God for the wisdom he received. The king was amazed and honoured Daniel. These stories remind us to make faithful choices and to ask God for help when we need wisdom.
