About the book of Acts
The book of Acts was written by Luke, the same person who wrote Luke's Gospel. It continues the story after Jesus went back to heaven.
It begins with Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit came like wind and fire, and Peter preached to thousands of people. It tells how the first church shared everything and how the good news spread.
The second half follows Paul, who met Jesus on the road to Damascus and then travelled across the Roman world, surviving prison, earthquakes and even a shipwreck.
