“They were all filled with the Holy Spirit”
The story behind this colouring sheet
Then something like flames of fire appeared and rested on each of Jesus' followers. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit!
And they began to speak in other languages — languages they had never learned!
The fire didn't hurt them. It was a sign that God's Spirit had come to live in them, giving them power and courage.
This is the day the church began. Christians celebrate it as Pentecost, sometimes called the church's birthday. Many churches decorate in red to remember the flames.
Talk about it
- What appeared above the disciples' heads?
- Who filled the disciples?
- Pentecost is sometimes called the church's birthday. How could your family celebrate it?
