About The Wise Men

The wise men, sometimes called the Magi, came from a country in the east. They studied the stars, and when they saw a special new star, they set off to find the newborn king.

The Bible doesn't say how many there were — we often say three because of their three gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh.

The star led them to Jesus in Bethlehem, where they bowed down and worshipped Him. Then God warned them in a dream not to go back to wicked King Herod, so they went home another way.
