About the story

Wise men from the east saw a new star in the sky and knew it meant a great king had been born. They set off on a long journey to find Him.

In Jerusalem, King Herod told them to look in Bethlehem — but secretly he wanted to harm the child. The star went ahead of the wise men until it stopped over the house where Jesus was.

The wise men bowed down and gave Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. God warned them in a dream to go home another way, and an angel told Joseph to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt, where they would be safe.
