“Being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.”
The story behind this colouring sheet
King Herod had asked the wise men to come back and tell him where the child was. He said he wanted to worship the new king too. But that wasn't true. Herod was jealous and wanted to harm Jesus.
After the wise men had worshipped Jesus, God warned them in a dream not to go back to Herod.
So they listened to God, and went home to their own country by a different road.
God was taking care of Jesus. The wise men had come looking for a king, and they went home having met Him — changed forever.
Talk about it
