The story behind this colouring sheet
The wise men gave Jesus three special gifts. Each one was precious, and each one tells us something about Him.
Gold is the most precious metal there is, a perfect gift for a king. Jesus is the King of kings!
Frankincense is a sweet-smelling resin that was burned when people worshipped God. It reminds us that Jesus is God's Son.
Myrrh is a fragrant perfume that was used when someone died. It reminds us that Jesus would one day give His life to save us.
At Christmas we give presents to each other, but the greatest gift of all is God's gift of Jesus to the world.
Talk about it
- Which gift do you think was the shiniest?
- What was gold a gift for?
- Why do you think Jesus is called God's greatest gift?
